Most brides worry a bit about the prospect of rain on their big day, especially here in Newport where the wedding dream vision includes sunshine, beaches, sailboats, and more. I get that. When I first started shooting weddings, I worried a little about rain before each wedding too.
But here’s the thing, as far as I’m concerned (and I have a pretty big stake in this!) I now feel that rain doesn’t ruin a thing. It’s just another part of your wedding day. Your story. It’s a detail. And, honestly, I think it’s beautiful. Just as beautiful as sunshine. Are puddles and brollies a pain in the booty? Yes. Do we wish for torrential downpours and flooded streets? Of course not. But will it happen from time to time? Sure.
And when it does? No. big. deal.
